Magnolias at Brooklyn Botanical Garden

People wearing shorts and flip flops, restaurants serving food outdoors, flowers bursting with colors...spring is officially here. I've endured the harsh, sunless winters in anticipation of beautiful spring days. I can finally do my favorite things without the presence of discomforting cold weather--jog along the Hudson, lay out and watch people and dogs at Washington Square Park, eat and drink outside, and walk around the city with a coffee (or cookie, om nom nom nom!) in one hand while listening to my iPod.

This weekend I went to the Brooklyn Botanical Garden to check out the magnolias and cherry blossoms in bloom. Just like spring in New York, the flowers' lifespan is fleeting, making them that much more special.
