My hotel was about 20 blocks north of the monuments and was in a charming neighborhood. When I grow up, I want to live in one of these houses...but only during the spring and fall because I don't do winters on the east coast.

Barney the Dinosaur lives here. You can tell by the doorsteps.

These pictures don't do the cherry blossoms justice. You have to be strolling underneath them or lying on the grass (like those lovesick couples do) to see the splendor and beauty of the flowers.

The Tidal Basin and the side of the Jefferson Memorial.

The majority of the cherry blossoms are around the Tidal basin.

W's house.

I passed by the Mayflower Hotel and was tempted to take a picture of myself with a provocative gesture. If only my friend was there... I don't know if you're familiar with the hotel, but Elliot Spitzer's scandal was a big deal in NY. Makes you think twice about who slept on your hotel bed before you did.

I went to the National Geographic Society (it's not a museum) and they only had one exhibit--frogs. From all the facts that I learned today about frogs, I can only remember the mating process (it can last several hours to days!) and how a frog's penis looks like. (How do those National Geographic photographers get those shots?!) What can I say...I'm a visual person.

Trash People. They're people...made out of trash. This was outside the National Geographic Society. Next time you think about throwing away your leftover food or coke cans, be more creative and make a dog or monkey out of your trash.

I went to the Smithsonian National Zoo and saw two sloth bears make out. Who knew that a sloth and a bear could mate?

This zoo has a panda research center, where they basically play match maker and set up ovulating females (they only ovulate once a year) with males...or if the males aren't in the mood, the females would be artificially inseminated.

After the zoo, I went to Georgetown, a historic neighborhood lined with shops and restaurants.

The C&O Canal. Back in the day, this canal allowed for transportation of coal, lumber, agricultural and products to the community.
I love DC so much that I'm going back next week with my friend!
