If a guy drops his drawers in front of me, I can say with 99.9% certainty that it's just going to be me and him in the room. Last night was the first time three guys dropped their towels/drawer in front of me...and of course a bunch of other play-goers at The Happy Sad, a "contemporary comedy of sex, love, and dating in a city where there are too many options and not enough time." We were treated to full frontal nudity--the meat and potatoes, the bat and balls, the squirrel and its nuts...you get my point.
The play had seven talented actors, with several people I recognized from the big and small screen, including Eddie Kaye Thomas aka Finch, the guy who banged Stifler's mom in American Pie; Michael Stahl-David, this cute guy from the horrible movie Cloverfield, which made me walk out of the theater thinking,"WTF was that?!" (FYI, he looks REALLY good sans clothes); and Maulik Pancholy, who plays Jonathan on 30 Rock. The actors gave the audience an intimate look at what goes on in other people's relationships and the doubts, insecurities, fears, and hopes they have, that we all have. Things like, "I wonder if my boyfriend still loves his ex," "Is my boyfriend going to cheat on me or leave me for someone else," or "While we're getting it on, does my boyfriend think about the guy that he met on a gay porn site who rammed his arse?"
The play was entertaining from beginning to end and was LOL funny, but unfortunately it ends today. I think it should become a movie.
