Random Photos Catch-up Time

When I first moved to NY, I frequently wrote on my blog as a way to update family and friends on my life and new experiences with this extraordinary city. As the months turned into years, I wrote less because my life became more routine and I found myself at the same parks, museums, bars, events and neighborhoods, coming across the same creepsters and weirdos. Although I continue to experience new things (mostly food related) and meet new people, most of the subject matter isn't compelling enough or is too self-incriminating (aka my dating life) to warrant a blog post. And depending on the season, I was either too busy or lazy to write.

I recently bought a new camera and was motivated to capture objects that I often come across in my daily life. In a way, the camera helped me reassess my surroundings, allowing me see the familiar with a fresh perspective as I once did before. Hopefully I'll start posting again on a regular basis. Below are some random shots with my new and old cameras.

My hood, Lower East Side.

Cafe Chabon, a restaurant I walk by every morning on the way to work, yet have never eaten at because Yelpers gave it bad reviews.

One of many spray-painted signs on a sidewalk. And it is my hope that one day Tibet will be free.

Boat Basin. One of the things I love about NY summers is dining and drinking al fresco.

Atlantic City. Bird was going in for the kill. I found it sad that the bird was starving (or stupid) enough to eat a diaper. And if you're one of those people who litter, I hope a bird poops on you.

Atlantic City. Makes me miss OC beaches.

Battista, my new obese, snoring BFF. I was at my friend's friend's apartment and met Battista in the elevator. I introduced myself to the owner, and being the bulldog-obsessed person that I am, offered to babysit his dog should he ever travel out of town. Since he works long hours, he gave me his apartment keys and told me to come over anytime I want. My plan was to pimp out Battista but he refuses to go outside for walks. So I just stay inside and play fetch with him but he gets tired after five throws.
