Coldplay + Light Show = Awesome Show

Coldplay performing Viva la Vida.

I remember the first time I heard Coldplay's song in 2000, Yellow, I thought it was a such beautiful song. Eight years later, they continue to make great music with memorable, meaningful lyrics. Their music has evolved from slow I'm-going-to-fall-asleep and I'm-a-big-pile-of-sap (as my cousin would say) tunes to a more upbeat I-want-to-get-up-and-swing-my-head-back-and-forth-so-my-hair-can-fly-everywhere sound.

They played last night a mix of old and new songs at the Izod Center in New Jersey. Their album cover is shown in the back.

There were these giant balls hanging from the ceiling and they would turn different colors or have different images projected on them.

For a slight second I thought I was at a rave.

Chris Martin is an energetic, passionate performer. He talked to the crowd every now and then and encouraged them to sing along...and yes, I sang and made up some words along the way.

Every song had different lighting effects. This was when they played Fix You. (It will always remind me of Wedding Crashers, one of my fav movies.)

Besides having a great voice, Chris Martin is awesome on the piano...makes me want to play again. Here, he sang The Hardest Part.

Coldplay really appreciates their fans. They ran up the stadium and peformed The Scientist on the seats, right in the middle of the roaring crowd.

I don't remember which song they performed here, but confetti flew out.

They performed their last song...which I don't remember.

But of course there's the encore song, Yellow...hence the yellow lights for all you slow people out there.

My fav Coldplay songs: Yellow, The Scientist, Sparks, Fix You, Lost!, and In My Place.
