Esperanza Spalding at SummerStage in Central Park

Right after the Pride Parade, I headed up to Central Park for SummerStage, a free concert series featuring performances by musicians, poets, djs and the like. Today's performer was Esperanza Spalding, a jazz artist who sings and plays the bass. I was dripping sweat, burning from the sun, and sitting next to a half-naked man with a belly the size of a pregnant lady's, but Spalding's upbeat songs and amazing voice made me stay.
