I rarely drink coffee in the morning but my friend's mom had a frother that was so fun to use that I made coffee every morning I was there. We would sit on the deck, sip on our coffee, watch the ocean, then lay out all day. The only thing I was missing was a copy of the NY Times.
The entire south side of Maine consists of beaches like this one.
A scuba diver and frog flying in the air.
We walked around Mackworth Island in Falmouth.
The island had a part that encouraged people to use wood and rocks to build fairy houses.
We couldn't go to Maine and not have lobster.
Wearing our lobster bibs, we each cracked open the lobsters and dipped them in butter.
My friend's brother built a fire on the beach and we made s'mores. I controlled myself this time and only had three s'mores and four roasted marshmellows.
The room that I slept in faced the ocean so I would always wake up to the sun rise (and then go back to sleep). I cherish these brief moments where I'm completely alone, witnessing a natural beauty that is ever so fleeting.
Just as we had serene sunrises, we also had tranquil sunsets.
We visited LL Bean's 24-hour flagship store in Freeport, Maine. That explained why everyone in the area wears solid color fleeces and looks as if they're about to go hiking. I wasn't too enthused about the clothes but I was excited to see the different types of trout in the store's giant tank, which had a glass bubble that allows you stick your head in to say hi to the fish.
