My cousin's dad drove us around the entire lake today, starting from Geneva and heading northeast from the city. We passed by towns like Lausanne, Montreux and Vevey (I saw Nestle's headquarter), surrounded by gorgeous scenery--hills with terraced vineyards, mountains with orange/red/green colored trees, and the calm waters of Lake Geneva.
In the morning the sunlight reflects off of the lake like tiny glittering stars.
We drove through Evian-les-Bains, famous for its mineral water. I never knew that Evian was from France.
For lunch we stopped by Yvoire, a medieval town along the lake.
We dined at a restaurant overlooking the harbor.
I have been speaking broken English with my cousins the past few days because they don't understand me when I use full sentences. Tomorrow I leave for Berlin. I'm excited to explore a new city and to meet English speaking people so I don't sound like a fob when I talk. I'm glad I was able to meet my cousins, aunt and uncle and appreciate them welcoming me into their homes. It's nice to know that I have such kind family members in different parts of the world and that one day when we meet again, we will no longer greet each other as strangers but as familiar faces.
