In the lame but quasi-funny movie Nacho Libre, Jack Black's simian-looking sidekick, Esqueleto, enjoys his corn on the cob on a stick. It may not appear appetizing to see his gargantuan jaws clamp on the corn, but once you get a whiff of this goodness slathered in mayonnaise, shredded cotija cheese and cayenne pepper, your mouth begins to water...yum...I experienced my first mayo-cheese-cayenne corn on a stick at Cafe Habana, a little hole-in-the-wall eatery in Soho...or perhaps it was in Nolita...Anyways, I squeezed the lime all over the barbecued corn and devoured every single morsel, taking breaks in between to pick out the remnants in between my teeth, and licking the citrusy cheese that was smothered on my lips. You know I wouldn't be writing about this if it didn't receive a party-in-my-mouth rating!
