Finally! Fall Foliage!

I could see condensation when I exhaled, my toes were getting frostbite, and my hands were still cold with gloves on. All my thoughts of "what the hell am I doing out here when I could be at home warm in bed" disappeared when I walked through Central Park.

I had been waiting FOREVER for the leaves to turn red and orange. Ever since fall started, I went to Central Park almost every weekend to see if the leaves have changed colors. I even regularly visited a website to read the foliage report. So what's the big deal with the leaves, you may ask? California doesn't have them! Or at least Orange County doesn't. So it was my first time to see such trees. I'm no longer an orange-red-leaf-tree virgin.

This picture is dark, but in person, the colors were amazing. The red and orange leaves jump out from the green leaves.

When I was walking down the path, leaves were falling off the branches. I've never seen leaves fall off so gracefully, fluttering along in the wind.

This tree stood out from the rest of its green friends. It was the brightest tree I saw that was fully yellow/orange.

Two trees embracing each other.

All the colors of fall.

After walking through Central Park, I walked through Rockefeller Center. The Christmas tree was being erected. A sign that the holidays are coming! Yay!

I had dim sum for lunch at Ping's Restaurant in Chinatown. It's not as good as the dim sum places in OC, but at least it was near Chinatown Ice Cream Factory, where I got almond cookie ice cream. It was a thick, buttery vanilla flavored ice cream with tiny bits of sweet almond cookies. OMG, can I say, Love explosion in my mouth?! When I was walking and eating, this guy walking towards me stopped in his tracks, and stared at my ice cream with wide eyes and his mouth open, like he wanted me to feed him...or maybe he thought I was crazy for eating ice cream in 40 degree weather.
